Our St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores
The St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store recycles your gently used donated items for repurpose in the community. Our profits go to help those people in-need.
1.) To provide a one-stop shop for all genders, ages, and nationalities of low-cost recycled or new clothing and other goods.
2.) To provide the poor and those individuals and families who are truely in need with support and a source for low-cost clothing and other necessary goods at little, or at no cost to them.
3.) To benefit the homeless and poor in our communities by generating sufficient funds to open additional thrift stores who's revenues, like our first store's revenues, will go to support our goal of helping to develop a St. Vincent de Paul Family Homeless Shelter along our Gulf Coast. We will continue our support other ministries in support of our youth, women and children who have been trafficked, those incarcerated re-entering society, our SVDP Conferences, and those in-need. We support those women and children who are trafficked through our support for Advocates For Freedom (AFF). You can visit their Botique in our thrift store.
4.) To benefit our community by providing job training, employment, and volunteer opportunities for those elderly, handi-capped, disabled, struggling veterans and military, those caught up in the slave trade and trafficked, as well as the jobless individuals who are in-need of jobs. This generates confidence, the availability of secure respite, a sense of self-pride, and satisfaction among people.
5.) Through donations and grants we will invest in, help to develop, and help in the operations of other Catholic organizations that will provide focus on social/human services directly within our communities. We will collaborate with other social service agencies and our Vincentian brothers and sisters to house community-based social/human services, provide support for established food pantries, kitchens that feed the poor, facilities providing restrooms & showers, laundry facilities, temporary respite, education, counseling, access to medical care, pharmaceutical assistance, and spiritual support.
We need your help. With your support and generous Donations our thrift store will be able to provide household goods, clothing, furniture and other recycled and new necessities to a broad range of people. These efforts go hand-in-hand of our short-term efforts of helping those in-need by paying rents and utilities to house tose in-need of shelter, clothing those who are naked, feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, the disabled, the elderly, and the poor, while helping to tend to the needs of the homeless, those having been trafficked, and our working poor.
Our gift card system will be available and can be utilized by all charitable organizations along our Gulf Coast. Our voucher system, managed by the St. Vincent de Paul Conferences throughout the Biloxi Catholic Diocese, will be able to directly communicate specific needs, or distribute our gift cards that will enable those we serve to purchase furniture and clothing free of charge to meet their household needs.
